Alan Chantker is a native and current resident of Baltimore City. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland. In addition, he holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. In 1986, Alan co-created a first-of-its kind, electronic printing services business. He closed that company in 2003 to become a full-time real estate investor after two years of part-time investing. Since 2001, Alan has completed over 150 residential real estate transactions of all types. In 2002, Alan co-founded the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Investors Association (MAREIA.com) with other Baltimore-area investors. MAREIA is a professional networking and educational organization with approximately 300 members drawn from the Baltimore-Washington metro area. Alan is president of MAREIA and also teaches MAREIA’s Wholesaling 101 course. This class covers the basic principles of real estate investing with an emphasis on the strategy of finding distressed properties which can be sold to other investors who renovate these houses for resale or rental. In 2008, Alan was elected to the board of directors of the National Real Estate Investors Association, a professional organization made up of hundreds of investor associations across the country. His three-year term began in January 2009 and he represents the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2009, he was elected to the position of vice-president of the National Real Estate Investors Association for a two-year term which began in 2010. |

Within only a few years, Tom has built a company that does dozens of deals annually with an average profit of $24,736 per deal. In the past three years alone, his businesses have generated revenues of more than one million dollars. An outspoken advocate of using modern technology to enhance business and lifestyle, Tom has uniquely structured his business in a way that allows him to operate remotely from anywhere in the world. Tom got started in real estate investing in 2001. | Beth Marsie-Hazen Vice President, MAREIA |
Beth is a co-founder and current vice president of Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Investors Association (MAREIA.com). MAREIA is a professional networking and educational organization with about 300 members drawn from the Baltimore-Washington metro area. She is also a co-founder of HML Capital Group, a Hard Money lender in the State of Maryland. HML Capital provides short-term financing to professional real estate investors and residential property renovators. www.HMLCapital.com She began her real estate career in 2001 and has been a full time investor since that time. She has completed more than 150 transactions in Baltimore City as well as surrounding counties. Beth Marsie-Hazen holds an Engineering degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She spent over fifteen years in various positions within the telecommunications field in areas ranging from Software and Hardware Design and Engineering to Commercial Building construction and operations. She has had responsibilities for as many as 800 employees located all across the country. |

| Carolina Zeeb Vice President, Capital Area REIA |
Carolina is a full time investor and wholesaler who focuses on the Latino community in the DC metro area. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, she moved to the US in 2001 after receiving a B.A. in Business from the University of La Sabana. She worked as an Event Planner for an association in DC before becoming a certified Loan Officer for the Latino division of a large mortgage company. Carolina started investing in real estate part-time in 2003. Her first deal paid out more than what she was being paid at her job. Therefore, within one year she was able to quit her job and live the life she dreamed of. Carolina is an active part of the RealEstateDealCoaching.com mentoring team. She enjoys helping students do deals and seeing their lives change through real estate just like hers changed. Carolina is the Vice President of the Capital Area Real Estate Investors Association, which serves creative real estate professionals in the Washington DC metro area. Carolina and her husband Tom welcomed their first son in January 2009 and she is happy that real estate allows her to have time for the best of both worlds: business and family. |

| Valarie Mares Executive Director, MAREIA |
Valarie Mares is the Executive Director of MAREIA. Previous to this, she worked for the University of Maryland University College and Carroll Community College in Alumni Affairs and Development. For the past five years she has been a volunteer for the non-profit organization, Suited to Succeed, and is currently on the Board. She also volunteers for Rebuilding Together Baltimore. Valarie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from UCLA in Theater Arts. She worked in the entertainment industry for many years as an actress and in film production in the Los Angeles area. The Drama Conservatory is a program that she started 16 years ago where she writes plays, directs and teaches theater to young people. Currently she is writing her second screenplay and working on a show for cable in her spare time. |

Jody Broughton has been in the real estate field for over 20 years as a Realtor, Appraiser and Investor. She was an administrative office manager for 10 years before changing her career to real estate. She started her real estate career as a full time Realtor for over 10 years where she was consistently one of the top 10 salespersons in her office. Currently, Jody is a full time Appraiser with Atlantic Appraisal Associates, LLC, servicing the Washington Metropolitan Area. www.atlanticaa.com Along with appraising, Jody has been investing in real estate for 5 years as a landlord, rehabber and wholesaler. As a MAREIA member, Jody contributes by volunteering as the Special Events Coordinator, to include taking on the role as House Captain for Rebuilding Together Baltimore, helping with the monthly meetings and being the Chairperson for the Building Wealth Expo trade show. |
